A Third Generation Farm

Marble Family Farms is a third generation farm located in Farmington Maine. It was a dairy farm until the mid fifties and then was used as a small family farm. Richard and Weslene Marble purchased the farm from Wes’s father, Earl over time but he continued to hay the fields until 2004 when they took over. Richard and Weslene have raised sheep, horses, chickens and pigs over the years. They continue to hay the fields and raise animals on the farm. Gardens of flowers, herbs and vegetables are also abundant.

Greenhouses & A Commercial Kitchen

Richard and Weslene received a grant by the Kellogg Foundation from Western Mountain Alliance that was used to put up a greenhouse in 2006. Andrew Marble and Sarah soon after put up their first greenhouse and started growing vegetables commercially. Since 2006 two more greenhouses have been added and a new building that houses the Commercial kitchen was completed in 2008. A new 38 by 60 foot barn was added 2009. Innovation, new ideas and hard work by all family members has made the farm prosper. The Marbles have all worked together to make this small family farm the prosperous and beautiful farm it is today.
